The Pinot Craze continues:

New Pinot Noirs

Short Supplies

Kiwi invasion

We have some new Pinot Noirs to talk about:

Laetitia Reserve Pinot Noir 2002- From the wineries best blocks of Pinot Noir in the Aroyo Grande Valley this wine shows fantastic fruit purity and complextiy. Rich notes of jammy preserves, wild strawberry and onion peel exude from the glass. Super smooth and rounded on the finish with subtle hints of oak. Was $39.99 now $34.99 while supplies last.

Laetitia Le Colline single vineyard Pinot Noir 2002- The altitude here is some of the highest for vineyards in California at 3000 ft. Cool breezes off of the coast and ample sunlight make for some rich and complex Pinot Noir. Le Colline vineyard is a volcanic basalt bases soil which imparts complexity and subtlety in the wine. The nose is Burgundian with hints of truffles, game and onion peel. French country kitchen herbs and soft oak accent the palate leading to a well rounded but lingering finish. Was $54.99 now $45.99 only bottles left.

Laetitia Les Galets Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2002 - Grown in the same volcanic soils as the above but with more pebbles and rock tuffa, a volcanic soil created when chunks of lava are blown from the cone and solidify when the hit the cold air and land as hardened rock with a molten core. The air trapped inside the rock creates a very porous, spongy rock which will pull water from the soil. This makes for a fuller, heavier bodied wine. The Les Galets is a full bodied and deeply colored Pinot Noir. Hints of wild berries, stewed strawberries, rhubarb and raspberries linger on the nose and palate accented by hints of herbs de Provence and typical Burgundian Gaute de Terroir but layered in rich black fruits. Big and muscular on the palate, this is a Schwarzenagger of Pinot Noirs and it will "Pump you up!" Was $61.99 now $45.99 again only bottles left.

As most of you have seen with the Pinot Noir craze that many of your favorites are out of stock on a regular basis. As supplies dwindle we need to wait for the next vintage to get our favorites back in so bear with us as we continue to try and source new Pinot Noirs for you.

New Zealand has long made some great Pinot Noirs from the South Island as well as some pockets on the North island and now that everyone is looking for Pinot Noir the Kiwis are coming.

Stoneleigh Pinot Noir - $15.99

Dashwood Pinot Noir - $14.99

Dyed in the Wool Pinot Noir $10.99, Rams Reserve $16.99

Kim Crawford Pinot Noir - $18.99

Nobilo Icon Pinot Noir- $17.99

Spy Valley Piont Noir - $33.99

I won't bore you with the details but these are all very good Pinot Noirs all worth a look. If you are getting tired of California Pinot Noir please try some of these, as I have always been a big fan of Kiwi wines it is great to see something other than Sauvignon Blanc invading our shores, of course invading in a good way.
