Recent additions:
The Willows Shiraz-
This nice little Barossa winery produces some great value priced
Shiraz. Big and rich in the mouth and nose with hints fo spice,
black fruits, tar and licorice plus oak toast and briery notes.
The finish is firm and structured and will benifit from a little
age in bottle but can be enjoyed now with some breathing. $32.49
Oliver Hill Petite Sirah-Not
known for this variety, Australia has a few old plots of this grape
that make some fantastic, inkyblack wines. This is full of fruit
and black spice with rich overtones of baked fruit, cassis, Rhone
style spices and oak treatment. Not too over blown like some of
the California monsters at 13.5% Alcohol so you can have more than
one glass. $25.99
Elderton Friends Cabernet Sauvignon
- Elderton are famous for thier Shiraz's but they make an amazing
Cabernet too. The friends Cab is loaded with that typical Aussie
Gum, Eucalyptus to you and me, note of menthol and wild mint. There
is plenty of cassis, blackcurrant, black cherry and oaky integrity
plus some good tannins on the finish. $17.99
Henrys Drive Reserve Shiraz 2004
- Just out of the gate and raring to go. This is a massive bottle
of wine full of thick, ripe flavors of blackcurrants, cassis, dark
skinned berries, port hints and berry fruits. The palate is thick
and layered with oak, fruit and compelx tannins that linger on the
finish. This will gladly reward cellaring and when Parker gets hold
of it you know he will lavish praise on it, again. 95
points for the past vintage. $53.49
Trevor Jones Boots Shiraz
- This is a really great little bottle of wine. We have enjoyed
the Boots Grenache in the past and this fantastic addition to the
Trevor Jones line is warmly welcomed. Bright fruit of cassis, raspberry,
berry tea and warm spice accent the nose and palate which is medium
bodied with fantastic richness on the finish. Great buy at $14.99.
Kalleske Greenock Shiraz
- Greenock is known for producing tightly wound, complex and multi
layered wines and this is no exception. "A large scaled as
well as impeccably balanced red, the 2004 Greenock's dense purple
color is followed by concentrated blackberry and cassis flavors
intermixed with notions of raspberries, camphor, and graphite. This
beautifully knit, full bodied Shiraz possesses modest amounts of
alcohol, 15%, for its richness and intensity. It hsould drink well
for 10-12 years." 92 Points Robert Parker
$51.99
Mcleans Farm Shiraz Cabernet
- "Dark, ruby/purple colored with a sweet nose of high quality
cigar smoke intermixed with dried herb, cassis, and cherry characteristics,
this deep, fleshy, medium boided 2004 possesses delicious, ripe
fruit, good underlying acidity, and noitons of plums, allspice,
and loamy soil in the finish. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.
A fantastic bargain." 90 Points Robert
Parker $14.99
Turkey Flat "The Turk"
- Here are two fun wines from this great old winery. The Turk white
is a blend of Semillon and Marsanne with some nice tropical flavors
and a nice oily texture that would be great with fish. Fresh and
clean on the finish its great cold on a summer night. $11.99 The
red is a real power house of Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah with
typical Rhone style spice with loads of Aussie black fruit for balance.
A super value too at $17.99
Also look for new additions from
Gemtree in the Bloodstone Shiraz and Citrine Chardonnay both at
$14.99 plus Kirrihill Langhorne Creek and McLaren Vale Shiraz priced
at $18.99 and both fantastic examples of the variety. Teusner has
released thier 2004 Avatar, $36.99 old vine Grenache, Mataro, Shiraz
blend to compliment the younger more vibrant Joshua $28.99 also
in the Chateauneuf-du-Pape mould. So come on in and see whats new.

Witch Shiraz, in 1.5 liter too, and Hazyblur Invictus plus new vintages
